Uganda Emergency Relief Association was formally established
The Taiwanese Emergency Assistance Association in Uganda (Taiwanese Emergency Assistance Association in Uganda) held its inaugural meeting in Kampala, Uganda on 28th (October). More than 30 local Taiwanese from Uganda participated in the meeting. The meeting was jointly organized by overseas Chinese consultants and the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Africa Lin Zhengliang, Vice President of the General Association and Chairman of the Preparatory Committee of the Association for Emergency Relief, presided over. After members’ election, Lin Zhengliang was elected as the first President, Chen Qingzhang, Chairman of the Uganda Taiwan Chamber of Commerce and Xie Dongyi, Vice President of the Uganda Taiwan Chamber of Commerce as Vice Presidents, Overseas Chinese Affairs Promotion Committee member Zhou Ting was elected as the chairman of the board of supervisors, and Zhang Shu, the founding chairman of the Uganda Taiwan Chamber of Commerce as an advisor, and Luo Zhenhua, a representative of Taiwan’s representative office in the Republic of Somalia, attended the ceremony in person to witness and congratulate. Started operation.
Chairman Lin Zhengliang pointed out that the Uganda Emergency Relief Association was established under the joint guidance of the representative office in Somalia and the Overseas Chinese Affairs Group of the representative office in South Africa. Necessary and immediate care and assistance when working on vacation, studying abroad and local expatriates encounter emergencies in order to achieve the effect of watching and helping each other; in addition, the association's care network will be expanded to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Luanda and South Sudan to provide regional assistance .
Representative Luo said in a speech at the inaugural meeting that the ROC government has not yet established a representative office in Uzbekistan and is currently under the jurisdiction of the representative office in Somalia. Our government attaches great importance to overseas Chinese and continues to encourage the establishment of a dense network of contacts to integrate the strength of the overseas Chinese community; Although the number of Taiwanese in Uganda is less than a hundred, in the past, Chinese business travelers, tourism and NGOs have continued to travel to and from Uganda. Every time there are urgent needs of the Chinese people, including President Lin and other Uzbek nationals, they always provide assistance with great care. I believe that in the Emergency Relief Association After its establishment, when a major accident occurs in Uganda, local overseas Chinese or nationals should be able to use the mechanism
