2021/07/24 Namibian Mbalantu(Ovambo)
2021/07/24 Namibia
The Mbalantu (Ovambo) ethnic group occupies more than half of the population of Namibia in the southwestern African country. Like the Swazi and Zulu ethnic groups, they all originate from Bantu people.
Their women’s very famous tradition is to know how to keep and braid the natural curly, fragile hair of Africans.
Girls are handed down from generation to generation. From primary school girls, girls, to women of different ages and identities, their hair has different weaving methods, which is clear at a glance.
Namibia was a German colony before World War I. After the defeat of Germany, it was transferred to a province of South Africa controlled by the British, called the "Province of South West Africa", which was not independent until the end of the 20th century.
There is a Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Namibia, and its honorary chairman, Mr. Chen Fuzhong, is a consultant of the Taiwan African Economic and Trade Association.
